Week 8

Now we are back from our vacation and on Monday we get straight to the business. We had guest lecturer Terhi Aho from Tulos and she came to talk about search engines and content marketing. There is many search engines but globally the biggest is Google. You can search there everything what you ever want to know by words, content, sentences (e.g. which have the same meaning but you have written it a different way) etc... Google wants to be your best assistant and know everything about you. Everybody don't like that Google sees everything but they are doing it just make your life a little bit easier. It is like a great customer service. One of the most important thing what Terhi said was that internet is a huuuuge place. Nobody finds you if you are alone. So CONNECT your website to other websites that will help people to find YOU. That same thing goes for people. World is big nobody finds you if you don't connect. A few tips if you are going to do your own website, first you have to think your target group, why they need this, what is their problem and what you want to tell them.

Our second lecturer was Laureas old student from Myynnin & Markkinoinnin Ammattilaiset. Unfortunately I had to leave to my French course but the first 10 minutes when I was there listening her, the main thing what I get that you can be a great success is to, I don't know have I use this word enough, CONNECT with people! Be brave. Go meet people to different kinds of events! You cannot lose.

On Thursday our teacher, Ilkka, kept his first live streaming lecture about Digital strategies. He highlighted three important things: People, Strategy and Integration of sales and marketing. He had good points like what is good business situation e.g. how you should behave, your first impression, good start and the end etc... but he didn't say those things straight but challenge us to tell him what is our opinion of this. There was important points about how strong social media is. Don't underestimate it. And how much you need other people and nowadays customers are kings. If you don't listen to them they won't listen to you. We also write down three most inspiring people who we know and I really have to say that Ilkka is one of them. But if you want to see the whole lecture please go to periscope.tv @IlkkaKurkela

Second lecturer was Bishnu Rana who was telling us about Lead Nurturing. I haven't ever heard about that. I think It is some kind of process building effective relationship with potential customers throughout the buying journey. But I don't know.. The subject was very hard for me to understand so I am a little bit confused..

We also had our own presentations about "Hubspot Marketing Grader" but the Lucky Lady didn't pick our group so maybe next time we can climp to the stage.

Ok... Now I have picked five lucky ones whose blogs I have been reading. I have to say that all those blogs looks amazing! So many pictures and blogs looks visually beautiful. Especially Hannah have beautiful pictures and good English skills and Linda have amazing videos about her group and she is very talented writer. Iiro has a good point that some companies like Urakkamaailma was founded by students like us. If they can do it so can we.

I can tell, when I look Laura's blog, that this is not the first time when she is doing it. Many many pictures and some pictures tells that their group really enjoy to work together. Their attitude is great and that is the most important thing to remember. Mathias is a few words man but he have written about their project Lacybox. They have done a blog post for it and also find some keywords for searching. Great job guys!
