Week 13

On Monday we had lecturer, Katja Järveläinen, from GAPPS (Google apps). GAPPS is founded 2010

and they have 800+ customers and it specialize in Google for change management, work deployements and custom cloud solution. They have pretty interesting app in the making where you can edit documents in real time together in different devices. Work happens everywhere and any time.

Katja had some thought about things which are changing in work life:

1. Business field: no more price competition -> customer service is the key point

2. Technology: New technologies are transforming your customers-> everything is in the cloud

3. Employees: You must understand your employees motives

4. Procedures: Companies need to be innovative in their processes

5. Belongingness: People need to find their own places in the team-> money can be the reason to start in the company but not the reason to stay.

6. Leadership: Without good leadership the most flexible organization don't arise

The lecture took about 1 hour and we get a task to put the whole lecture in a 1 minute. Pretty hard I can say. We almost make but it went about 20 seconds over... A good try though!

On thursday we had a lecture about Content Marketing. It is a strategic marketing approach, which is about distributing and creating valuable, consistent and relevant content to retain and attract a clearly-defined audience. It is the art of communicating with your audience, without being to obvious about your endgoal. A good example of content marketing is Coca-Cola who have this Drinkable Ad. When you see a Cola commercial you need to use Shazam app and fill the drinking glass (which show up on your screen) with Coca-Cola. When you have filled it up you get a free bottle of Coca-Cola. Pretty smart and interesting advertising. Not available in Finland though....

Here is couple key points why you should use content marketing:

1. It is social

2. It is very good with customers

3. It is amazing for email marketing

4. It is super for PR

After lecture we had to present our "lecture" about "How to keep a good presentation". We did this presentation at the first part of the course but couldn't keep it then. It was fun to hold the presentation, and we managed to keep it relaxed. The other groups also had good presentations. One group presented the history of digitalization from 80's to this day. It found it very amusing.
